The Irvine Valley College Campus Police Department is an on-campus agency staffed by fully-sworn Peace Officers that are trained and regulated by standards established by the California Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Commission. In short, they hold the same authority as a Municipal Police Officer or County Deputy Sheriff.

    Irvine College Police Department
    Phone:  (949) 451-5234

    Campus Police Office hours
    Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm
    Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Campus Police Officers are responsible for patrolling campus grounds, taking crime and incident reports, conducting investigations, enforcing all applicable laws, traffic regulations and providing a safe environment for students, faculty, staff and guests. They will also help start any vehicles with dead batteries, obtain a lockout for on-campus drivers, escort individuals and more.

Crimes, suspicious activities, and any emergency should immediately be reported to the Irvine Campus Police Department. You can contact them 24/7 by calling (949) 451-5234 or Extension 5234 from campus phones. You can also go in person to the Campus Police Office located in Lot # 8 near the Baseball Field and file a report there.

Their Police Chief describes their work best in an excerpt of his mission statement for this department: Our mission is to serve the community with professionalism and pride.  We intend to work closely with students, faculty and staff in a cooperative effort to achieve our goal of keeping this campus a safe place to work.  My door is always open to discuss any issue that may be of importance to you.

    CAMPUS ESCORT SERVICE

    Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Phone:  (949) 451 5234 or extension 5234 from any campus phone.

The Campus Escort Service is available to all members of the college community.  If you want to have a Student Escort accompany you from your classroom/office to your car or other campus locations, contact the College Information Operator or the Campus Police Department at the above numbers.  A Student Escort is then dispatched by radio to meet you at your location.  A Campus Police Officer will also be dispatched to provide escort services whenever a Student Escort is not available.

    PARKING AT IRVINE COLLEGE CAMPUS

    Parking Permits
Parking Permits purchased online are directly mailed to students.  If you do not purchase a permit during registration, you may do so later through MySite, or at the Bursar's office in the Student Service Building. Parking permits should be displayed in the lower corner of the driver's side windshield. Irvine Valley College parking permits are also valid for student/staff parking at Saddleback College.

Parking on campus is by permit only in designated spaces. Green curbed (timed) parking areas do not require permits.  Students must not park in Staff spaces.

There are disabled spaces in each parking lot. A valid campus student or staff parking permit is required along with a California Disabled Placard.

Citations will be issued by the District's Traffic and Parking Regulations for any parking violations.  Penalties range from $20.00 to $250.00.

    Beginning of Semester Waiver

In 2010, IVC Police will not issue citations for 403(a), "Failure To Display Valid Permit", in student parking lots until January 24, 2010. After this date, citations will be issued for all other parking violations. Beginning on the first class meeting day of each full semester, students are required to display a valid waiver.  This also applies to the first week of the first summer session beginning on that first class meeting day. This waiver does not apply at metered, Staff, Disabled or any other posted/reserved spaces.  Citations will be issued for parking violations at these locations.
