    MANHATTAN BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT JAIL

Arrestees brought to the Manhattan Beach Police Department are fingerprinted, photographed, DNA sampled and further processed as required.

The Manhattan Beach jail is a temporary detention facility whereby inmates usually only remain for only a day or two. It is designed to only hold roughly 15-20 inmates.

Sometimes, inmates are held until they sober up and are released. Those that are not released or bailed out from the Manhattan Beach jail are generally sent to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department jails.

Such defendants are often transported to the downtown men's Los Angeles or Lynwood jail for women.

The Manhattan Beach jail is open 24 hours and inmates can even be bailed out on Christmas day. If you choose to visit an inmate, you should be aware of the strict visiting regulations. You should call the jail prior to your visit in order to get the most up-to-date visiting regulations.

Additionally, Manhattan Beach jail maintains a distinctly different area for processing juveniles so that they can be completely separated from the adult arrestees.

Generally speaking, juveniles are not eligible for bail bonds. Instead, they are released to their parents or taken to a juvenile detention center.
