    LAPD SOUTHWEST DIVISION & JAIL INFORMATION

    The Southwest Community Police Station of the Los Angeles Police Department serves the areas of Adams-Normandie, Baldwin Hills, Baldwin Village, Baldwin Vista, Crenshaw, Exposition Park, Jefferson Park, Leimert Park, Union Square, University Park, Village Green and West Adams.

    If someone is arrested in any of these areas, they will be transported to the Southwest Division Station Jail, which is located on West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Los Angeles.

    There is no long-term jail facility located at the Southwest Division Station. Once an arrestee is processed, booked and checked for outstanding warrants, etc., they will be transported to the Metro Center Jail.

    The Southwest Division Police Station is under the jurisdiction of the South Bureau of the LAPD. The Southwest Area is approximately 13.11 square miles, bordered by the I-10 Freeway on the North, I-110 Freeway on the east, Vernon Avenue on the south, and La Cienega Boulevard on the west.

    It is a culturally diverse community, with a population over 165,000 people. Its 352 sworn personnel and 32 civilian personnel serve the culturally diverse community of over 165,000 people.
