    UNIVERSITY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Law Enforcement services are provided to the students, faculty and staff at the CSU Long Beach Campus by University Police. It is the goal of campus officers to establish a secure and peaceful learning atmosphere.

The main station for the CSU Long Beach University Police Department is located in the brick building south of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and a substation is on the second floor of the Student Union.

University Police Officers have full law enforcement authority and can arrest anyone involved in criminal acts on campus as well as any areas adjacent to University property. Each officer undergoes special training that is designed to meet the needs of a contemporary university community.

    CAMPUS SAFETY

    Night Escort Program
The University's Night Escort Program is offered by Community Service Officers. These officers dress in black shirts that say University Police and Community Service Officer and have photo ID badges. Each officer carries a hand-held radio that enables them to directly contact the police dispatcher.

An escort may be requested Sunday through Thursday, from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm and Friday and Saturday, from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm. To request an escort, call 562-985-4101 on any cell phone or pay phone or dialing 5-4101 from any campus phone. Calls can also be made using the Blue Emergency phones if necessary.

    RAD
University Police offers a women's self-defense training course each semester. Rape Aggression Defense Systems is a program that teaches realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. Women are taught awareness, prevention, risk, reduction and avoidance as well as hands-on defense training. This program includes 12 hours of professional instruction.

    ARREST AND BOOKING

If a friend or family member has been arrested by University Police and taken into custody, the booking process must be completed before they can be bailed out. The booking process will include fingerprinting, mug shots, background check and warrant search.

It could take several hours to complete the booking process, depending on how busy jail staff is at the time the individual is brought in.

Bail will be given based on the county's bail schedule. Once the defendant is completely booked in to the system, they will be able to either post bail themselves, have a friend or family member pay it for them, or use the services of a licensed California bail bondsman.

Call 888 Bail Bonds at 888-224-5266. We are available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week and will be ready to answer all of your questions about CSU Long Beach bail bonds.
