    BAIL BONDS INFORMATION

An important part of life on campus is having a safe and secure environment in which to live and learn, teach and visit. The University of California Merced Police Department ensures that this happens by providing high quality police, security and emergency management services.

If someone you know has been arrested on the UC Merced campus, call 888 Bail Bond at 888-BAIL-BOND (1-888-224-5266) right away to find out how you can get them released from jail as quickly and safely as possible.

Officers of the UC Merced Police Department are on duty 24-hours a day. There are currently eight sworn police officers and seven civilian personnel working within the department. The peace officers have authority within the entire state of California and undergo the same training as city and county officers as well as additional training required for working on a college campus.

Officers are responsible for patrols, investigations, crime prevention education, and related law enforcement duties for the campus community. It is the goal of the department to increase the safety and security on campus for all students, faculty and staff.

The Community Service Program was set up in 2005 when the campus opened. Community Service Officers are student employees within the police department. They help by providing services to the campus community and enhancing the level of services the department provides.

The campus safety escort program is run by the CSO program. Escorts are available from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday.

    R.A.D.

The Rape Aggression Defense program is conducted nationwide and teaches women realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. The program provides students with information that can be used from the first day. It is not a martial arts program, but teaches women both physical and non-physical options for defense, as well as insight into their attacker’s mindset.
