The Tehama County Sheriff's Department consists of many Divisions in order to better serve the community, such as the Patrol Division, Jail Division, Investigations and Operations, Boating, Crime Prevention and Neighborhood Watch, STARS, Search and Rescue. The Jail Division is the largest Division of the Sheriff's Office. The facility was built in 1974 with additions complete in 1994. It has the capacity to house 227 sentenced and pre-sentenced inmates at once.
