ARREST & BOOKING

The booking process is the procedure that the San Joaquin County Jail follows to get an inmate properly documented into the jail system.  Usually this process will take about 4-12 hours. Unfortunately, this is not like checking into and out of a hotel or even getting a speeding ticket.  A detainee will get fingerprinted, photographed, medical and psychological evaluations and similar activities. They will have their personal effects documented and inventoried and be checked for warrants.

A bail bond cannot be posted until this process is completed. During that time, however, you can begin the process with the bondsman. We can get your bond approved, complete bail bond paperwork and arrange payment. Throughout the process, we suggest to our clients to please remain patient and that we are doing all we can to get their loved one released.
