The Moraga Police Department is currently authorized at 11 sworn officers, four reserve officers, and two civilians. The sworn personnel consists of the Chief of Police, one Lieutenant, two Sergeants, and seven Patrol Officers.

This combination of personnel and equipment allows the Moraga Police Department to provide expedient service to the community and citizens of Moraga. It allows them to achieve the goal of serving the community with pride and professionalism.

When an individual is arrested in Moraga, they will be transported to the Martinez Jail for booking and processing into the jail system. The booking process can consist of a background check, fingerprints, photographs checking for any previous warrants, etc., and can take approximately 3 to 6 hours to complete.

Once the defendant has been updated, they will be eligible for bail. Our agent will post the bail bond with the Martinez jail, and the defendant will be released. It's important to know that if the defendant is not bailed out of jail, they will remain in custody to await their first arraignment.
