MENLO PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The Menlo Park Police Department is proud to serve and protect the residents of the City of Menlo Park. When someone is arrested in Menlo Park, inmates may be transported to the Menlo Park Police Department. While there, they will be booked into the system.

The booking process typically consists of fingerprinting, background check, warrant check and entering their information into the computer system. Once this is complete, arrestees may be transported to the San Mateo County Jails in Redwood City.

MENLO PARK BAIL BONDS

The jail's timing is out of our control, which can be frustrated both for you and for us. Once a bond has been posted, it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours for release from the San Mateo County Jail. It’s important to know that if the defendant is not bailed out, he or she will generally remain in custody until the matter has been resolved in court.

BAIL RESPONSIBILITIES

It would truly be unwise to post a bail bond for someone who you think may "skip bail" or not appear for their court dates. If this happens, you would be responsible for paying the entire amount of their bail. No one wants that on their head, especially in this financial climate.

When someone skips bail it is a criminal offense and can result in further charges and the revocation of their bail. It is good to keep in mind that the majority of bail bond issues can be easily resolved. They rarely escalate beyond a phone call to our company to straighten out the situation.
