Video Transcript:

It really depends on the jail how quickly we can get somebody released. We can’t control how quickly the jail processes somebody in or out. Some jails will allow us to get somebody out in 1 to 2 hours; other jails may take an excess of 12 to 24 hours.

As a bail bond company, however, we can control how quickly we do our paperwork and get everything finalized with the client. From the bail bond part of it, we can usually get everything done we need to get done in less than an hour. Some situations we can fax or email the documents to the customer. This helps speed up the process.

Usually we have all the documents to the customer by fax or email in under 15 minutes. The customer can print up the docs on their printer or fax machine and they can fill out the documents and fax them back to us. Once that’s done and the jail’s ready, we can have an agent post a bond at the appropriate jail.

Many times when a defendant is not bailed out quickly, they can get transferred from a smaller jail to a larger jail. When this happens, this can slow down the process quite a bit.

A couple of months ago, I got a call from a client in Hong Kong and his daughter was in jail in Van Nuys, California. I faxed him the paperwork; he had this paperwork in his hands in 20 minutes. He faxed it back to us and during that time, we had an agent on the way to the jail to post the bond. From start to finish (from first getting the call from Hong Kong to the time his daughter was released) was 2 hours. We try to use technology the best we can to help our clients.
