There are two types of jail facilities In Orange County. The smaller city jails are operated by the local police departments and are mainly used as temporary holding facilities.

The main Orange County jail is operated by the county sheriff department. If the defendant is transferred to the main Orange County jail, it may take anywhere from 2 to 12 hours to be released on bail.
