    LAGUNA WOODS POLICE SERVICES

The citizens of Laguna Woods benefit from the lowest crime rate of any city in Orange County. This is due to the efforts of to their small but effective Police Service, which is responsible for public safety and general law enforcement, including patrol services, traffic enforcement, criminal investigation and crime prevention.

To give you an idea of how small they are, they only need one on-site patrol car that runs 24/7. Early morning services are provided on an as-needed basis. Another officer, on a motorcycle, provides 10 hours per week of specialized traffic enforcement.

Laguna Woods Police services have provided for this community by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department under a contract that was signed back in 1991. The OCSD is comprised of twenty divisions that cover five organizational functions: Public Protection, Jail Operations (via the Orange County jails), Technical Services like investigations, coroner services, and emergency management; and Administrative and Support Services.

The cost of an Orange County bail bond is established by the State of California at 10% of the total bail amount. For example, for a bail amount of $25,000, a bail bond will cost $2,500 for their release. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. In many cases, we can also offer no collateral bail bonds.

If someone you care about has been charged with a DUI, drug possession, or any other crime, please don’t hesitate to call us at anytime of the day or night! You’ll always be able to speak with a live, compassionate bail bond professional – never an answering machine. We have offices throughout Orange County.

The city of Laguna Woods is nestled in the Saddleback Valley region of South Orange County west of Interstate 5. It is four square miles in size and around 20,000 residents live here. It is both one of California's newest and oldest cities because ninety percent of it is contained within the senior citizen gated community of Laguna Woods Village (formerly known as Leisure World, Laguna Hills).

The average age of the people who make this place their home are seventy-eight. The creation of the city almost didn’t happen. Instead, it was going to be turned into a major commercial airport until the Leisure World community hired a consultant to explore future governance options. The final report convinced community leaders to pursue cityhood and Laguna Woods was born. It was officially incorporated as a city in 1999.

Laguna Woods is bordered by Laguna Hills on the north and east, Aliso Viejo on the south, Laguna Beach on the southwest, the Crystal Cove State Park on the west, and Irvine on the northwest. It is a general law city that is run by a "council-manager" form of government. Five elected City Council citizen representatives set policies and adopt local laws. Then a City Manager, staff and consultants then carrying them out.
