A young couple is being held in the San Mateo County Jail each on a $50,000 bail bond after they allegedly went on a crime spree throughout Peninsula, California. According to Patch.com, 18-year-old David Cooper and 19-year-old Keyana McLish met one another on an online dating website. After a few weeks of dating, Cooper held several individuals at gun point and robbed them while McLish was behind the wheel of the couple's getaway car. In one of the robberies, Cooper chased a man in San Mateo into his apartment building and stole the man's wallet and cellphone. The victim told investigators he watched Cooper get into a red car after the incident.

Six days later, another man was walking down a San Mateo street. When he noticed Cooper and McLish's red car slowly trailing behind him, Cooper allegedly ran up to him, put a shotgun to his head and demanded money. The man handed over his wallet and Cooper allegedly got back into the red car. Luckily, the man was able to notice that McLish was wearing "distinctive hoop earrings," which is a defining factor that led to the couple's arrest.

According to Patch.com, San Mateo Police officers noticed Cooper and McLish's vehicle driving around neighborhood streets, and recognized that the female driver was wearing hoop earrings that matched the second victim's description. The officers pulled the vehicle over for a traffic stop and discovered that Cooper had a shotgun tucked into his pants. Both of the victims were able to positively identify Cooper and McLish, and the duo were later arrested. They are expected to appear in South San Francisco felony court for preliminary hearings for a potential trial, according to the source.

Mother and son awaiting trial for Orange County robbery-murder
Unfortunately, robberies take place in cities across the United States on a daily basis. A mother and a son were recently found guilty of a robbery and murder of a man in 2008. According to The Associated Press, 52-year-old Leticia Carrasco lured a man into an Orange County motel while her son, 26-year-old Noel Carrasco, demanded money. When the man refused to give the two money, Noel allegedly shot the man. Leticia and Noel later disposed of the body in the desert on their way to Las Vegas, where they were arrested for the crime. Noel faces life in prison without the chance of parole and Leticia faces 25 years to life. They will be tried later this month.
