LAPD NORTH HOLLYWOOD STATION HEROES
The North Hollywood Police were involved in the Bank of America robery and shootout in February of 1997. The brave officers on duty that day fought against very heavily armed men, who carried automatic weapons with armor piercing bullets and wore bullet proof body armor. The North Hollywood Shootout has been regarded as the longest and bloodiest event in US police history.
Although the shootout went on for some hours , due to the bravery of the LAPD North Hollywood Division the residents of this area were spared any further violence.

Be careful when visiting the LAPD North Hollywood Station, you might miss it. As you can see it's a nice looking building for a police station. Also take note of the sign, it does not reflect that it is part of the Los Angeles Police Department anywhere.
