Arrest and Booking

When someone is arrested on campus, they will be taken in for booking. This process will include fingerprinting, photographs, background check, and warrant search. Depending on how busy the facility is at the time someone is brought in for booking, the process could take several hours to complete.

Once booking is complete, the person can then be bailed out.

The amount of bail will be determined by a judge at arraignment or set during booking according to the county bail schedule.

DOMINGUEZ HILLS UNIVERSITY POLICE

The CSU Dominguez Hills University Police Department provides law enforcement services 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Trained emergency dispatchers are ready to answer calls 24-hours a day. Officers strive to provide a safe environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

University Police ensures the enforcement of all local, state, and federal laws, as well as any rules and regulations set by the University. These are enforced both on the CSU property and the area within one mile of the University.

The Patrol Division responds to service calls in the campus community. This may include calls for disturbances, crime reports, suspicious persons or vehicles, traffic collisions and emergency medical calls.

Detectives are responsible for conducting follow-up investigations, submitting cases to the LA County District Attorney, submitting traffic citations, investigate traffic collisions, performing pre-employment screenings for Department employees, and registering sex offenders who attend or are employed by the campus.

The University Parking Department is responsible for enforcing parking laws on campus property. They also assist with unlocking vehicles if someone has locked themselves out of their vehicle that is parked on campus.

Campus Escorts

University Police will provide escort service to and from any location on campus 24-hours a day. This service is open to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Requests for an escort can be made either by calling or visiting the campus police station.

A student or police escort will meet the requester at their location and follow them to their vehicle. Escorts cannot give people a ride to their vehicles.
