FRESNO COUNTY SHERIFF - AREA 3
The Fresno County Sheriff's office provides patrol services for over 6,000 square miles.
In 1983, patrol services were decentralized and divided into four patrol areas. Each area is commanded by a lieutenant who supervises field services from a substation located in each of the areas.
The Selma Sheriff Station is located in Area Three of the patrol area.
Area Three, "Nora Sector," of the Southwest Field Services Bureau, is currently under the Command of Lieutenant Robert Kandarian. This area of the Southwest Field Services Bureau provides law enforcement services for approximately 150,000 residents in the southern Fresno County area. Several communities are located within Area Three.
They are the incorporated cities of, Orange Cove, Reedley, Sanger, Parlier, Selma, Fowler and Kingsburg. There are also the unincorporated communities which are, Centerville, Minkler, Navelencia, Wahtoke, Del Rey, Raisin City, Easton, Caruthers, Laton, Riverdale and Lanare.
The primary focus of the Sheriff's Department in Area Three is to establish community partnerships with a strong emphasis on school related programs.
