The Santa Maria Substation services the unincorporated areas of the Santa Maria Valley including Casmalia, Orcutt, Los Alamos and Garey.  If someone is arrested in the area, they will be transported to the Santa Maria substation jail on West Foster Road for booking and processing into the system.  Some defendants may be later transferred to the Santa Barbara main jail.

It’s important to understand that the booking process of an arrestee consists of taking photographs, fingerprints, and conducting a nation-wide computer search. The process can take several hours to complete. However, once it is complete, the defendant will be eligible for bail.  If the defendant is not bailed out, he or she will generally remain in custody until the matter has been resolved in court.

California mandated law sets bail bond fees at 10% of the total amount of the bail. This is the non-refundable percentage. As an example, if the bail is set at $10,000, it would cost $1,000 to bail someone out. For payment, we accept cash, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
