    The San Joaquin County Jail’s mission is to promote safe, secure, and humane housing for pre-sentenced and sentenced inmates. Minimum Jail Standards as defined in Title 15 of the California Code of Regulations are met at all times.  The facilities are administered by the San Joaquin Sheriff Department.

    VISITATION

    Visitors are asked to wait outside the lobby before the doors open. A visitor can visit once a day at one of the three facilities (honor farm, intake, south jail).  Inmates are allowed 3 visitors at a time (including infants and children). Visitors are asked not to eat, drink, or smoke in the visiting rooms. Once a visitor leaves the room, the visit is over for that day. If you have been convicted of a felony or released from the San Joaquin County Jail in the last 30 days, you are not permitted to visitation rights.

    The following items are required when visiting:

    • Appropriate dress
    • California ID is preferred
    • Minors must be accompanied by parents or legal guardians (with proper documentation)
    • Visitors must sign up at least a half of an hour before to the visit
    • Seating is limited and visits are given on a first come, first served basis
    • Only 3 people may visit an inmate at a time (includes infants and children)
    • You may only communicate with an inmate in the visiting area

    INMATE MONEY & MAIL

    You may deposit money to an inmate account at any time by contacting jail records 209-468-4562, 4565. Money on the account may be used for commissary purchases while the inmate is in custody.

    Mail is received Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Mail with address labels will be returned.  Inmate addresses are as follows:
