We can be reached at 661-254-5822. KERN COUNTY JAIL SYSTEMThe Kern County jail systems consist of several locations and facilities. Often, inmates are booked at one of the smaller Kern County jails. If not bailed out, they are later transferred to the main Bakersfield jail. We always recommend that you attempt to post bond at one the smaller jails because if the defendant is transferred to the main jail then you may experience significant delays in release from jail. Central Receiving / Kern County Sheriff's Department The Central Receiving Facility is the facility where inmates from the Bakersfield area are received. Inmates are generally held in this facility pending their release, such as on a bail bond, or until their first court appearance. If the inmate will be in custody past their first court appearance, the inmate is generally transferred to the Lerdo Complex. Lerdo Pre-Trial Facility The Lerdo Pre-Trial Facility holds inmates who are awaiting court appearance but require a higher security facility. Lerdo Minimum Security Facility The Lerdo Minimum Security Facility houses both men and women. Lerdo Max-Med Facility The Lerdo Max-Med Facility is an overflow pre-trial facility which is used on an as needed basis. Mojave Substation The Mojave Substation is a very small facility which holds individuals arrested in the Mojave area. When this facility is full, arrestees will be taken to or transferred to the Bakersfield jail. Ridgecrest Substation The Ridgecrest Substation is a very small facility which holds individuals arrested in the Mojave area.
