GRASS VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT AND JAIL INFORMATION

The Grass Valley Police Department is a community policing organization with 41 sworn and civilian staff who provide police services for the City. The Department is dedicated to providing effective and courteous community policing services while preserving the legal rights of all individuals and reducing the impact of crime in Grass Valley.

Those arrested by the Grass Valley Police Department will be transported to the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. While there, they will be booked and processed into the computer system.

The Wayne Brown Correctional Facility jail can house 250+ inmates and is designed to house maximum, medium, and minimum-security inmates.

The booking process of the defendant generally consists of interviews, fingerprints, and necessary reports and forms will be filled out. Once bail has been posted, release from this jail can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours or more, depending upon the situation of the defendant.
