THE BOOKING PROCESS
The inmate booking process for either the Placerville jail or the South Lake Tahoe jail in El Dorado County Jails will consist of fingerprinting, background checks, and checking for any pre-existing warrants. This process will take approximately 1 hour, sometimes more. During their time in jail, the detainee will not have access to any cell phones or credit cards, etc. During the arrest and booking process, if applicable, the bail amount will be set based on the county bail schedule. After they have been booked, the defendant will have several options for release.
