Most everyone has heard tales of Black Friday shopping trips gone bad.  Getting a good deal is one thing- winding up in handcuffs due to, ahem, "aggressive shopping habits" is another.   Below are just a few quick tips to keep you out of of trouble.

1.  Don't run people over with your car.  A 71 year-old drunk driver was arrested a few years back after he mowed down a couple who was walking through a Walmart parking lot outside of Seattle.  The victims wound up needing medical attention, and the driver found himself in need of a bondsman.

2. Don't shoot a fellow shopper for swiping your parking spot. This second Walmart incident occurred after a dispute over a much-coveted parking spot.  The victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and the assailant was taken into custody.

3. It's not proper to pull a gun on someone if cut you in line, even if you're shopping in Texas.  It all started when a man reportedly confronted another man about cutting in line, man number two raised his fist, and man number one pulled his gun.  As it turns out, the man was not arrested because he had a valid weapons permit.

4. Don't pepper spray  a mob of people because you want them out of your way.  A California woman faced charges after she peppery sprayed a large group of people who were surrounding a video game display in a local Walmart.  Neither the shoppers or local law enforcement were amused.

5.  Fist fighting inside a store is not appropriate behavior.  This one came out of a Walmart in the City of Brotherly Love, when two grown men came to fisticuffs over  a television.  Several nearby shoppers were inadvertently knocked out as a result of the fight.   The men are believed to have been charged with simple assault.

6.  Fist fighting in a store parking lot is also, not appropriate behavior.   Although its' not immediately clear why the two shoppers decided to throw down, the incident got them both into trouble.  Fighting, be it in the mall or outside of the mall is a great way to get yourself arrested.

7.  Don't forget your kids.   If you're going to venture inside a big box retailer to browse the good deals, don't leave your toddler outside.  A Massachusetts man got himself into trouble for doing just this. Fortunately, police located the little guys sleeping in his dad's car.

8.  Don't take money from children.  A group of teens found themselves in trouble after they robbed a 14-year old as he strolled out of the mall.  Robbing children, and adults for that matter, is a bad idea... unless you're wanting to spend the night in jail.

9.  Don't threaten to shoot people who are in your way. It doesn't matter how great the deal is.  Will this get you into trouble?  Yes. Just ask the Wisconsin woman who was arrested for criminal threats after threatening to shoot a group shoppers that were standing in her way.

10. Don't steal. Big Brother is always watching- and this definitely holds true on Black Friday.  You may want to think twice about trying to stuff that X-box under your shirt and attempting to walk out the front door.  Shoplifting is guaranteed to get you into trouble.
